Swim on Over to My Guest Post

Today, I’ve been asked to write a guest post for Leila of the blog Three Dresses Project. She and Katie of Kadiddlehopper are joint-hosting a SewAlong series for swimsuits – a SwimAlong!

While I’m not exactly participating in the bathing suit “sewing along” (I don’t think I’ve been swimming in about 10 years), I am contributing with a Preliminary Procedure post.

So swim on over to Three Dresses to read about how I start every project, both personally and professionally (illustrated with photos by Lelia!) – here’s the direct link.

And don’t forget to check out all the other SwimAlong posts between the two host blogs – they have everything scheduled from historical research to supply sources to tutorials.

You might even want to join in the summer sewing fun!

Thanks, Karen! Leila really made the post so much more interesting by applying my general guidelines to her project as an example! =)

I have making a swimsuit on my list simply because I have never done it and I have a pattern for it. I’ll most likely never use the swimsuit, which is why I haven’t done it yet, but the advice will come in handy whenever I do. It’s great you took the time to contribute. Thanks for sharing.

You might find a reason to use a custom made swimsuit if you made one. =) Glad the information might be useful – the series is interesting reading even if you don’t join in the sewalong!
