Sewing that's Retro, Geek, and Chic
Brooke Wilkerson has been sewing since the age of seven. She is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University with a B.A. in Theatre, where she spent hundreds of hours in the costume shop.
Her professional experience as a freelance seamstress includes working for The Dallas Theater Center, Barney & Friends/Hit Entertainment, Irene Corey Design Associates (ICDA), The Dallas Opera, and a number of production companies in the film & television industry.
Other sewing credits include constructing Tyler Rose Festival gowns and various items of home décor.
As Custom Style, Brooke specializes in the creation & construction of vintage style wedding gowns & headpieces, custom clothing, and period costumes.
When she is not sewing, Brooke has enjoyed working as wardrobe crew for Dallas area TV shows like “Prison Break”, “The Good Guys”, and “Chase”. (Read a little about what it’s really like behind-the-scenes in this post.)
She also likes to spend time with her husband and Jack Russell terrier.
